Lake Bled is Slovenia's top natural landmark. This glacial lake in the foothills of the Julian Alps stuns visitors with its emerald waters and an island crowned by a church.

Getting There

Bled is 100 km from Koper — about a 2-hour drive through alpine valleys. From Ljubljana it's much closer: just 40 minutes.

Pletna Boat & the Island

A traditional wooden pletna boat takes you to the island and the Church of the Assumption, where you can ring the famous "wishing bell".

Bled Castle

A medieval castle perched on a 130-metre cliff offers the best panoramic view of the lake and island.
