Trieste is easy with children: a compact centre, the sea close by and its own “kids’ stories” — from Marco the Penguin to a fairy-tale castle above the water.

What to do with kids

A city quest. A walk from the seafront by the aquarium through Cavana, Piazza Unità and the Roman theatre to the cathedral on the hill — with a riddle at every stop.
Miramare Castle. A park by the sea to wander for hours and a castle straight out of a fairy tale.
Swimming at Barcola. A long seafront with concrete platforms where the whole city goes in summer.

Family tours

We run two walks for families with children aged 6+: an adventure with Marco the Penguin in the centre and Miramare with Max the Cat. Just your family, up to 6 people.
